Earlier this month, Adobe warned us of several critical vulnerabilities in it’s Reader and Acrobat PDF viewers. According to Adobe, these vulnerabilities are already actively being exploited by hackers and other cyber criminals. Basically, any user who opens an PDF document tampered by a cyber criminal risks having their system being infected by malware. If you have your Reader or Acrobat installation set to update automatically, it should update itself. However, you can force the update by going into your Adobe Reader Help menu and click “Check for Updates”. Your other option is to uninstall Adobe Reader and use another PDF Reader. I recommend Foxit Reader. Foxit Reader is fast, lightweight, reliable, and secure.
